Ask the children to use their imaginations, tackle design challenges and consider the properties of different materials. Example questions: Imagine that you have found a magic ticket. What could you use it for? How many things can you think of that are spotty? Can you design a new kit for a football player? Who do you think each pair of shoes belongs to? Make a list of things that roll. Younger children could draw pictures to show their ideas while older children can write lists and sentences.
