You can use these worksheets as an extension to your lesson, as worksheets for early finishers or for group work. This maths resources relates to place value: tens and ones. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Place Value Grids - tens/ones and tens/units - for practical activities Blank Place Value Grid o Worksheet and Cut/paste activity sheets for making 2-digit numbers. Children choose a 1 -digit number from container 1 and another 1-digit number from container 2 to make a 2-digit number which they stick onto their worksheet and describe the number, e.g. 35 = 3 tens 5 ones; 30 + 5. This product is on the topic of All About Me. Aimed at: Reception/Year1 and Year 2. Use for ESL/EFL students for speaking about themselves and about other people. <strong>Content:</strong> • Teacher Notes (2 pages) • 42 Question Cards (colour and plain background) – Laminate and cut out • Rules for whole class activities using the question cards • Digit cards 1 – 32 (patterned and plain): Laminate and cut out • Worksheet (1 page) • Blank question and digit cards for your use **The question cards can be used in various ways. ** This is option 2. Arrange students in a semi-circle. Whole class activity – Laminate and cut out the flashcard numbers and randomly hand them out to the students. Print, laminate and cut out the question cards and place a selection in the centre. You select a question card and then to choose a student to answer the question, say ‘I want whoever has number 7 to answer the question.’ The student that has card number 7 answers the question. If you would like other students to answer the same question, then just say e.g. ‘I want whoever has card number, e.g. 23, to answer the same question.’ Depending on timing, you can decide on how many questions to select from the pack. Working in Pairs or small groups Students shuffle some question cards and lay them face down on the table. They take turns to turn over a card and ask each other questions. This resource relates to New Zealand money - giving change. There are 50 task cards/activities. Content: 50 numbered Task cards Answer Key Recording Sheet Money Reference Sheet There are two task cards to a page. **The task is in two parts: ** • First students add up the coins/money in the first column and write the price of the item. • The middle column shows the money used to pay for the item. • Students work out the change using whichever method they are comfortable with and then write the change given in the last column. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters. This pack relates to euros and euro cents currency. Updated 17 May 2022 to include two versions of the original Presentation and worksheets showing the different ways euros/cents are written. Aimed at KS1/Kindergarten/Grade 1 and ESL/EFL students. The presentation can be used as follow-up to the first pack and builds upon the skills students have learnt previously. It still uses a step-by-step approach to teaching money but using higher value coins. This pack contains: <strong>A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation (53 Slides) - divided into convenient sections. </strong> 1.Reviewing coins and their values, money exchange and using the 50c, €1 and €2 coins. 2. Using €1 and €2 euro coins. Using combination of coins to equal the value of the one euro and two euro coins. 3. Using euros and cents together - this is explained in the presentation with various whole class activities 4. Giving change from €1 and € 2 euro coins. The Presentation also includes whole class activities and different strategies students can use to work out money problems. Students also learn to change, e.g. 125 cents to €1.25/1,25€. **4 Flexible Lesson Plans - contains objectives, plenaries and main lesson. PowerPoint Slides are referred to in the lesson plans. ** Some preparation is required: Laminate the coin sheets, coin cards and price tags for practical tasks at tables. <strong>Worksheets</strong> <strong>Lesson 1</strong> - Adding up combinations of euro coins (2 worksheets). At the Mall (2 worksheets) - adding two items. Extension adding three items. <strong>Lesson 2</strong> - You will need the coin sheets or you can use plastic euro money. Students draw or use the laminated coins to work out different combination of coins that equal €1. Challenge: Different combination of coins that equal two euros. E.g. 50c + 20c + 20c + 10c = €1 <strong>Lesson 3</strong> - Two-part money activity Worksheets (x2). This resource is on the topic of Saint George and The Dragon legend. A great introduction to myths and legends. Aimed at: KS1/2 The legend of St. George the dragon-slayer is on PowerPoint. The Presentation includes whole class activities and comprehension questions. Children are encouraged to participate in discussion about the story and check their understanding. The second PowerPoint Presentation explains what mythical stories are and why they were told (6 Slides). The third PowerPoint Presentation is on different dragons for whole class activity and to prepare children for their worksheet activity. The resource also contains:- Flexible detailed lesson plans covering 3 lessons (includes learning objectives and plenaries). Each PowerPoint slide is referred to in the lesson plans. Lesson 1: Children are presented with the legend of St. George and then there are 7 comprehension questions. The Myths Presentation is also referred to set the story in context. Differentiated worksheets - With support - LA children read, cut/paste sentences to match pictures; MA/HA write sentences for each picture using time words. Extension: Complete George’s Day Factsheet (colour in/3 questions). Lesson 2: The lesson focus is adjectives. Children review describing words using the Dragons Presentation. A lovely shamrock cut and paste puzzle activity counting 1 to 5 puzzle. You can prepare the activity by cutting out the puzzles and having the children sort through to count and match the number of shamrocks to the correct number or for the more able number words and number. Alternatively, to improve their fine motor skills, place the sheets of paper on their tables and get the children to cut out and match the two sides of the puzzles.
