Guided Reading Comprehensions
A set of 10 Early Reading Comprehensions. Simple language used, including key words, for children to read. There is then three questions based on each text and a large space for students to write their answers.
Can be used with more able Reception Children and Year 1 and 2 Students.
Also included are reading activity sheets that the children can complete based on the texts in the pack or they can use these to answer questions on any narrative text.
Aligned with reading outcomes from the New National Curriculum.
I laminated the reading activity sheets and children selected their own books and answered the questions in the activity.
I wrote all the stories and questions and have permission to use all images commercially.

This pack contains 30 close reading comprehensions and questions that are suitable for Reception to Year 2 depending on the ability of your students.
There are a range of comprehensions that gradually get harder and require the students to read and answer more questions as they progress through each comprehension. The initial comprehensions are simpler and have 3 questions and build up to more complex passages with 9 questions by the final comprehensions.
These are great to use for whole class activities, guided reading, or both independent and supported work or homework.
These are based on the reading outcomes from the National Curriculum for Year 1 and 2.
Please note these are not the same as my 10 Early Years reading comprehensions. These are more complex.
Suitable for Year 1 and 2 and lower KS2 for lower ability students.

A PowerPoint and corresponding reading comprehension that introduces students to the life and work of A.A. Milne.
The presentation talks students through the life of A.A. Milne, the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh and how it has grown in success so much so that Word Winnie the Pooh Day is celebrated on 18th January every year.
The reading comprehension comes with a work sheet with 10 questions and a timeline activity to demonstrate their understanding of the life of A.A. Milne.
