A full lesson resource. A PowerPoint that explains what persuasive writing is and examples of the features that need to be included in writing. Task: Students receive a letter from the headteacher (letter included) saying that the Christmas party has been cancelled. Students must write a persuasive letter to the principal outlining reasons not to cancel the party. Supporting PowerPoint takes students through the planning process and highlights the features of persuasive writing (introduction, explaining your views, paragraphs, rhetorical questions, facts/data, persuasive language). These can be used daily during registration or as starters before lessons. These can be worked out independently or in groups and require challenging and critical thinking. In PowerPoint so you can easily adapt if differentiation is required. Guided Reading Comprehensions A set of 10 Early Reading Comprehensions. Simple language used, including key words, for children to read. There is then three questions based on each text and a large space for students to write their answers. Can be used with more able Reception Children and Year 1 and 2 Students. Also included are reading activity sheets that the children can complete based on the texts in the pack or they can use these to answer questions on any narrative text. Aligned with reading outcomes from the New National Curriculum. I laminated the reading activity sheets and children selected their own books and answered the questions in the activity. This is a colur coded Action Verb list. Included: An action verb list with accompanying images Verb tenses template - each verb is written in the present, past and future tense. Three posters (present, past and future) giving an example of each verb type in a sentence. Four sample verb worksheets (students will identify verb types and convert sentences between tenses). I printed off a class set of these and gave to my students to refer to during independent writing and to help consolidate and reinforce tenses and verbs,

Based on missing number problems students work to solve the problems by finding the missing number. Suitable for KS1 and lower KS2. These can easily be adapted for upper KS2 by changing the numbers. Students will be asked to identify main and subordinate clauses in the beginning, middle and end of the sentences. I have written over 120 Sample Questions based on the Sample Paper released for the new KS1 Maths SATs in 2016. Also included is a full paper - Paper 2 Reasoning. . At the bottom of each page there is a number 1-31. This number refers to the question type it is based on from the Sample Reasoning Paper released by the Standards and Testing Agency UK. I wrote the questions so they can easily be cut into separate questions and laminated as single questions. (Can be used as class or homework question cards). They can also be used as full question pages. I have them as single questions for the students to take home or answer in during class practice. I also give them full question pages.
