A 90 mins - 2 hours fully-resourced PSHCE lesson all about the importance of critical thinking and being able to spot and debunk fake news. Students will begin by studying a dubious social media post, before learning all the skills and new terminology they need to take it apart, analyse it and be critical of it through comparison with a variety of credible sources (included). This has been created to fit with the new PSHE Association guidelines but would also be useful as a Citizenship or Media lesson. It lasts roughly 90 minutes if all tasks completed. The lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, detailed information sheets, differentiated challenge activities and worksheets, clips tasks with questions and a debate focus task. I lobbied for this film to be considered so YAY! The workbook has been updated [ april 2022] and has a detachable back page if you want to avoid the spoiler of Rosa. It’s 22 pages and will form an teaching and revision guide The workbook takes the students through the who what and why - and with the PPTS should get them ready to answer some questions as well as provide a solid introduction to the satire of the film, the context and filming. A revision resource for A Level Media Studies focused on the WJEC Eduqas specification and the theorists listed in the exam board Teaching Guides. I encourage my students to highlight the sections on the sheet as we cover the material. It also serves as a basis for checking knowledge later on. It is designed to fit on a single side of A4 paper, though it scales decently to A3 for displaying. The two-page resource summarises each theoretical viewpoint briefly and organises the theorists according to the appropriate theoretical framework. This resource pairs reasonably well with the A Level Media Studies - Exams Structure and Theories knowledge organiser available on the store. Both the .pdf and the .pub are included so that you can customise it to your teaching groups.
