This is a helpsheet that uses the circle/ring the formula method to stop students from the misconception of changing the subscripted formula. Students can use this to help them answer questions until they don’t need this scaffolding. There are a lot of balancing equation question sheets, but not many free methods. Hope this is useful. Mole calculations help sheet

An equipment help sheet that can be used for pupils to understand the equipment they need for their practicals. You can print them off and write down how many pieces of each equipment they need, how many times they will repeat the experiment and where they can record their results. This works really well for low ability groups as it helps them process the equipment needed. Can also be used as a recall sheet for pupils to identify the equipment they may need. This has been made with AQA Biology Required Practicals in mind but it can be used for other exam boards as it covers most Biology science equipment.

I have used this sheet only with a practice ISA to help students to learn how to research their topic. It can be edited for whichever hypothesis you want and we got the students to use this in the computer room to research their ISA planning sheet. They then use the full information to write their ISA notes sheet. This also means that they can keep this sheet for revision to revise from before their tests and to help them to remember what their notes sheet means. For the real thing, they will create their own.

This is a help sheet for students writing up a scientific report. It follows the same layout as my Graph help sheets. It contains the following headings: Title, Aim, Method, Results, Evaluation & Conclusion. This can be used in all 3 sciences: Biology, Chemistry & Physics. This sheet gives pupils help they often need when naming salts and writing the correct chemical formula for them. There is a colour coded way to help show pupils where the name of the salt i s derived from and includes the chemical formula for the common laboratory acids. Furtermore, there is a list of the common ions and their charges that will help pupils when writing the correct formula for the compounds.

Three useful resources to help students improve their ability and independence when demonstrating the maths skills needed for KS3 and KS4 Science. Each resource walks students through how to complete one of three common skills needed: calculating mean averages, drawing bar graphs and drawing scatter graphs. The mean average sheet is scaffolded to help students even if they struggle with using their calculator too. The graph sheets both contain checklists which students can use to self assess their graphs. Useful to print and laminate as a classroom resource, or print and disseminate to students.
