GCSE READING - EATING OUT / AT THE RESTAURANT

(6)
This activity comprises of a GCSE level text (TOPIC: Eating Out) followed by 12 comprehension questions. I usually give the students 30mn to answer the questions in English. We then correct & discuss answers together. As a plenary I ask them to highlight 5 words from the text that they did not know/were unsure about at the start of the activity. The students have to write down the meaning of those words in English. I posted an activity like this one for every topic of the GCSE exam. My students really enjoyed it, hope it helps!

This resource was originally used with an interview lesson with a group of mixed Year 9 students. Used for new GCSE. The LO was to use adverbs to talk about where people eat out in town. Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift used to engage students. Received well. Post it notes used to support less able students. Simply write the English underneath the Spanish on two post it notes and stick around the rooms for support. The students loved it.
