This activity comprises of a GCSE level text (TOPIC: Eating Out) followed by 12 comprehension questions. I usually give the students 30mn to answer the questions in English. We then correct & discuss answers together. As a plenary I ask them to highlight 5 words from the text that they did not know/were unsure about at the start of the activity. The students have to write down the meaning of those words in English.
I posted an activity like this one for every topic of the GCSE exam. My students really enjoyed it, hope it helps!

A four-page worksheet with answers practising commonly used German GCSE food and eating out vocabulary. Could be used for revision, consolidation, homework or cover.

This resource was originally used with an interview lesson with a group of mixed Year 9 students. Used for new GCSE.
The LO was to use adverbs to talk about where people eat out in town. Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift used to engage students. Received well. Post it notes used to support less able students. Simply write the English underneath the Spanish on two post it notes and stick around the rooms for support. The students loved it.

A Spanish GCSE worksheet about eating out/restaurants. Includes a dialogue gap-fill, role-play and writing exercise with sentence starters. Suitable for KS3 and KS4 (could be adapted according to level).

A worksheet for GCSE students to enhance their translation skills on the topic of Eating Out. A variety of exercises, from individual sentences with a particular grammar focus, and passages for translation Spanish-English and vice versa. Where appropriate there are hints and reminders. There is also an accompanying answer sheet, which may be useful for students to check their own work, especially if working remotely. There are similar worksheets for different GCSE topics.

4 pages of activities on the topic of food and eating out with answer sheets useful for giving as homework or cover work to practice, consolidate or revise vocabulary for this topic.

A worksheet to practice translation skills both from French to English and English to French. Ideal for cover, homework and revision. Answers included.

The worksheet contains two ‘tangled translations’ about food and eating out where the text is written in a mixture of French and English. Pupils must write the full translation for both languages.

This time-saving resource provides students with vocabulary acquisition, practice and production on the topic of eating out in restaurants and a cafe. There are a variety of different types of task such as comprehension questions, ‘find the Spanish for’, gap fills and true. false or not in the text which readies students for the styles of questions that they face in GCSE exams. They can also be used to practice and develop reading aloud and dictation skills. Two tasks facilitate the description of photographs, in preparation for the speaking and writing exams, getting students used to these questions and photos that may be similar to the ones they encounter. Extension tasks are provided to stretch and challenge students which involves understanding more complex vocabulary and translation. This resource includes writing practice on this topic ‘Eating out’, reflecting on the vocabulary used in the prior tasks, is broken up into a 40 word, a 90 word and a 150 word task, allowing for use with all levels.
This resource also comes with answer sheets, making it a perfect resource to support all staff, specialists and non-specialists. Could even be used for effective cover and peer assessment. Resources have been proofread by two native speakers.
A FREE sample resource in this style is available in my TES shop in all languages on the topic of the calendar and festivals, and another in French on the topic of charity work.

If students give the correct answer they can remain on their spot until their next turn. If students give the incorrect answer they must go back to their previous spot and wait until their next turn to try again. The student that reaches the "finish" square first or is the farthest in the game when their time is up Wins!
