Time travel Britain! Students learn about Christmas during two different eras; the medieval period and Christmas during the rule of Oliver Cromwell. These two booklets include a range of activities (that need minimal teacher intervention) such as a time travel activity, source analysis, writing up a report about Christmas in the period of study (a differentiated version included with sentence stems and a version without literacy support is included), a stamp making activity, a word search and a quick recap at the end where students change their time travels views based on what they now know. This Reading Comprehension worksheet is suitable for higher elementary to proficient ESL learners or native English speakers. The first poster focuses on traditions like the origins of the Christmas tree and Santa Claus. The second poster focuses on the origins of traditional Christmas foods. We have also produced these posters to our standard specifications. That includes supplying them in seven sizes to match American and International paper sizes. Also changed is the font size. The font used on these posters should be legible if printed in smaller sizes of A4 or 8.5x11 inches. That means they can be given as handouts to students. The Ultimate History Quiz! For or any time, no fuss, historical fun. End of Year Escape Room A fun and educational history escape room, centred around ancient Egypt and the mysterious disappearance of a missing artifact. Work against the clock to solve the mystery before the dawn of the winter solstace, practicing history skills, critical thinking skills, teamwork and much more. Created with a target age of 11 to 14, this challenging escape room should provide a fun and educational end-of-year activity for your students! Set in the ancient Egypt exhibit at the British Museum, the escape room requires the students to follow a set of clues in their quest to find a missing scroll, believed to contain the secrets of the ancient Egyptian sun god, Ra. Professor Evelyn Westwood, the renowned archaeologist who discovered it, has vanished under mysterious circumstances, and the scroll has gone with her. By solving a collection of puzzles, your students will be guided from room to room on their quest to find a sacred missing artifact, the lost scroll of Ra. While the escape room is intended to be challenging, there is a great deal of support available to help your students in their quest, including explainer videos and animated hints/solutions that can accessed on the main PowerPoint. Perfect for a fun tutor time activity, to be completed over the course of a week, or as a fun lesson before the Christmas holidays.
