This assembly script is designed for Y6 leavers - focusing on being locked in ‘primary jail’ for various crimes and needed to perform tasks to escape to secondary school.
Each child has committed a crime (e.g. crimes against handwriting/dad dancing etc).
one child from each task escapes until they join a group at the end, who perform a dance - therefore when adapting to suit your class, you may need to change the crimes or order of children. It could be adapted to suit any transition year.
Our class thoroughly enjoyed this play.
3 songs appropriate for a Year 6 Leavers Assembly.
Hall of Fame - The Script
Count on Me - Bruno Mars
A Million Dreams - Greatest Showman
Lyrics are in sync with the tunes to play as an instrumental.
Hall of Fame - relates to their time from Reception to Y6
Count on Me - relates to moving on to secondary

This is a script for a Year 6 Leavers Assembly based on ‘Annual Primary School of the Year Competition’.
It includes 2 songs to fit ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘Count on Me’ tunes.
It is suitable for classes of 30 - however children can double up roles.
It is humorous.
Summary:
The audience will visit 6 very different schools, where the focus for the children certainly impacts them both physically and mentally.
But which school will win? Does academic brilliance override everything else? Or should children focus only on well-being? Or should a school combine everything?
Judges
• Judge Brainbox – obsessed with results, data, clipboards
• Judge Strict – obsessed with rules and silence
• Judge Happyclap – obsessed with wellbeing and comfort
Schools
Each school has 5–6 pupils (you can easily add more by splitting lines)
Academia Primary – Academic-only
Orderly Oaks – Behaviour-only
Peace & Love Primary – Well-being-only
Muscleton Academy – Sports-only
Victory Vault School – Ultra-competitive
Cromwell Primary – Balanced school
This script contains several 'in jokes' from our school, but could easily be adapted to a different school. I wrote this to give the children an opportunity to show off their talents and recall their memories of the school, but with a structured plot to tie it all together.
I have 4 x song lyrics for end of year 6 leavers songs! (no sound files)
APT. - Leavers’ Version (based on APT Song - Bruno Mars)
Defying Gravity - Leavers’ Version (Based on Defying Gravity Wicked Musical)
L-E-A-V-E-R-S (Based on HOTTOGO by Chappell Roan)
!!AND!!
LAVA CHICKEN from the Minecraft Movie and Jack Black
Hope they save a bit of time writing your own lyrics! :)
(Could be edited for end of year 2 and Year 11!)

Performed very well with great reviews- for the final song I played a presentation with pictures of the children from nursery until year 6- definitely a tear-jerker for the parents!
This Leaver’s Assembly script celebrates your Year 6’s time at Primary School in the form of:
Acrostic poetry,
Three mini-playlets about concerns leaving for secondary and leaving friends,
Picture PowerPoints templates,
‘I remember when…’ memories about their time at school and,

There will be some preparation involved in writing poems and memories, learning the songs, practising the mini-playlets and updating the Picture PowerPoint template slides for your school.

End of year six assembly play script. Tried and tested by a Y6 teacher! Full of humour and topical references. Easy to pesonalise.
Run time approx 20-30 minutes.
I performed with 22 children but lots of chance to add additonal parts (e.g contestants’ family members). 28 different speaking roles (we doubled up some roles when using 22 children).
Based on Gogglebox/I’m a Celebrity TV shows.
Lots of opportunites to get little stories/references about memories/trips/children’s personalities.
List of props included.

Sung to the tune of ‘Obviously’ by Mcfly, This song always makes our leavers and their parents shed a tear. Add a personal touch to your leavers assembly- no one wants to hear ‘When I grow up’ for the millionth time!
