Engaging activities for multiplication facts. These multiplication fact sheets have been a great hit with my students, and I’m sure they will be with yours too. They will help students understand the concept of multiplication, as well as memorize their multiplication facts. They can be used as morning work, bell work, extra activities for early finishers, or even homework. Every page is aligned to the Common Core Standards. Word problems to develop maths mastery in year 1 based around capacity.

Objective of this worksheet is to measure and draw angles. Contains 5 worksheets focusing on fluency, application, problem solving, reasoning and misconceptions. I use these sheets as starter activities to help with retention but can be used as a worksheet in class, bridging the gap or homework activity. Sheets in pdf and powerpoint which can be adapted to your classes needs.

This is a set of 12 colourful Maths mastery challenge cards designed to provide Year 5 or Six pupils with opportunities to develop their reasoning skills. I give the children a set each and ask them to stick them in their books. Alongside each card, they have to workout an answer but then explain their reasoning. They can be used successfully for developing mathematical discussion.

Maths Mastery Year 5: Included in this 93-page resource, is a huge range of activities/tasks to demonstrate mastery and to develop deeper thinking and understanding for all 47 year 5 maths objectives. For each objective there are at least 3 activities/tasks (200+ in total) along with answers (where possible). The document is set up so that you can quickly jump to the objective you are covering and then simply print the appropriate pages. In addition, almost all the activities can be adapted to suit your class’s needs if necessary. Finding or creating resources to evidence mastery and deeper understanding can take hours of time (and a lot of frustration). With this resource, you will have a massive bank of activities/tasks that you can choose from in seconds!

This is something I made for myself to have on my wall beside my desk. I can use it when marking and when giving verbal feedback to the children etc. It’s just a reminder of the types of questioning that should be used when teaching with the maths mastery approach. I want to make sure I’m questioning the children regularly like this. Instead of moving so fast once a child has completed everything I want to extend their thinking deeper and see if they can explain, show, draw what they have learnt and have been doing. I hope this will keep my reminded of what to ask!

A one page Maths mastery challenge! Can the children find multiple ways to make the number 24 - using only multiplication?

This is a resource to assess learning and greater depth understanding of the four operations. There are eight numerical questions (two of each operation) and two written greater depth worded problems. Differentiated three ways (Higher, Middle and Lower). Aimed at upper KS2 although may also be suitable for higher sets in Year 4.
