Regardless of their age, all students love a puzzle - learning and fun at the same time! When and how to use this resource The puzzles are suitable to be used as part of the lesson ‘Thanksgiving’ during class activities, for revision or as a stand-alone activity. Pupils can work on them individually, in pairs or in mixed-ability groups. All you need to do is to print off the puzzle (as many copies as you need), laminate them for durability, cut them out carefully to ensure close matching and finally, put the pieces in envelopes. In America, Thanksgiving is one of the most important days of the year. This is when people give thanks to God for food and all of the good things they have in their lives. ‘Thanksgiving Day Sampler’ is a well-structured lesson which aims to help students to engage in a meaningful way with this festival through a mixture of attractive activities which ensure high-quality learning experiences for all students: give me 3, Think-Pair-Share, watching a video clip, 3-3-1 activity, class discussions and designing a Thanksgiving Card. All activities are clearly linked to success criteria. I have included a few pictures of completed work from my students.
