  • International School of the Year

    Has your international school performed exceptionally over the past 12 months, improved rapidly, or maintained continued excellence? Then this award is for you. We’d like to hear about the innovative and imaginative things you’ve done to develop children in ways that go beyond academic achievements. 

    Entry requirements:  

    • Please provide supporting evidence such as parent testimonials, data analysis or anything else you feel is relevant

  • Principal/Headteacher of the Year

    All schools benefit from great leadership – and if your international school has a successful and inspirational headteacher, we want to know. Headteachers can nominate themselves or they can be nominated by governors, the governing board, teaching staff or parents. If you’re nominating someone else, please check first that they’re happy to be put forward. 

    We’d like to hear what makes you/your nominee a fantastic leader, including staff development and wellbeing, academic and other achievements, and community engagement. We want to know about all the aspects that go into creating a truly happy and successful international school. 

    Entry requirements:  

    • Nominations from governors, the governing board, teaching staff or parents will be considered in equal merit as self-nominations from principals or headteachers 

    • Please include at least three independent testimonials – these can be video submissions up to 90 seconds long

  • Community Engagement Initiative of the Year

    Has your international school run an excellent initiative that involves working with external groups, such as parents and the local community, or collaborating with other schools, local businesses, universities or colleges? Perhaps you’ve collaborated in an environmental or wellbeing initiative with them? Please do tell us about it! 

    Entry requirements:  

    • We’d like to hear how your community engagement initiative has benefitted everyone involved and see evidence of effective engagement  

    • Please provide information on how your school is the beating heart of your community

    • Please supply at least three testimonials from members of the community that your school works with

  • Best Use of Technology

    This title will be awarded to a teacher or school who demonstrates excellent use of technology. Teachers or schools can nominate themselves or teachers can be nominated by others, including governors, the governing board, teaching staff and parents. If you’re nominating someone else, please check first that they’re happy to be put forward. 

    Entry requirements:  

    • Please provide tangible evidence that the thoughtful and considered implementation of technology has had a positive impact on the educational outcomes of students. We’ll take into account the scope of the use of technology and the different aspects of school life and improvement it has influenced, as well as academic achievement

    • Please include any relevant data and case studies 

  • Staff Wellbeing Initiative of the Year

    Has your international school developed some great wellbeing and mental health projects to support staff? Whether they’re whole-school initiatives or schemes that have benefited specific targeted groups – we’d love to hear about them! 

    Entry requirements:  

    • While wellbeing may be hard to measure, we’d like to see evidence that the initiative or initiatives have benefited either all staff or a targeted group of staff, this could include staff survey data, staff retention rates and exit interview data

  • Student Mental Health Initiative of the Year

    Has your international school or team developed great mental health projects that support students? Whether they’re whole-school initiatives or schemes that have benefited specific targeted groups – we’d love to hear about them! 

    Entry requirements:  

    • While mental health may be hard to measure, we’d like to see evidence that the initiative or initiatives have benefited either all students or a targeted group of students

  • Curriculum Initiative of the Year

    Have you or your team found an innovative way to teach your subject or curriculum that helps students to enjoy it and be successful? Then tell us about it! We’re looking for teachers and teams who’ve made children excited about studying their subjects within the curriculum and delivered excellent results. 

    Entry requirements:   

    • We’d like to see clear, quantifiable evidence of the success of any initiative and how your work has promoted your subject or curriculum 

    • Please include at least three case studies of students (any school phase) who have progressed and shown real achievement

  • Specialist Provision Provider of the Year

    Has your specialist or inclusive provision school (schools for students with SEND or emotional and behavioural difficulties, alternative provisions and pupil referral units) had a stand-out academic year in 2022-23? 

    We’d like to hear about your successes and innovations – from improvements in attendance levels, staff retention, parental engagement or student success, to new ways you’ve supported students in their learning or helped them engage with the local community or businesses. Or perhaps you’ve achieved something different entirely? We’d love to know.

    Entry requirements:  

    • Please provide quantifiable evidence to support your submission

    • Please provide information about your successes and innovations including: 
      –  improvements in attendance levels 
      – staff retention 
      – parental engagement
      – student success 

  • Leadership Award

    We’d like to hear what makes you/your nominee a fantastic leader covering all the aspects that go into creating a truly happy and successful school, including staff development and wellbeing, academic and other achievements, and community engagement.

    Entry requirements:  

    • Please include at least three independent testimonials – these can be video submissions up to 90 seconds long

  • Teaching Initiative of the Year

    This category recognises and celebrates innovation, creativity and excellence in teaching practice within international schools. 

    Has your international school implemented one or more initiatives that have significantly enriched the learning experiences of students? Tell us about the positive changes you've made that have had a real impact on student engagement and how they've benefitted everyone involved.

    Entry requirements:  

    • We want to see evidence of the work such as: 
      – contributions to lesson planning and feedback
      – creative displays and engaging the children

    • Testimonials from teachers, headteachers, parents and others are welcome 

  • Teaching Assistant/Support of the Year

    The winner of this award will be someone who gives the very best support in the classroom and beyond. Assistants/support staff can nominate themselves or be nominated by others, including governors, the governing board, teaching staff and parents. If you’re nominating someone else, please check first that they’re happy to be put forward. 

    We’d like to hear how you/your nominee works in partnership with teachers during lessons and how you/they provide support for learning outside of the classroom. We’d like to know how you/they foster students’ independence and collaborative working, and support students’ social and emotional development. Tell us how you/they develop and apply your/their knowledge and understanding of students learning and development, students’ needs and best practices, and contribute to the wider work of the school community. 

    Entry requirements:  

    • We want to see evidence of your/your nominee's work, contributions to lesson planning and feedback, creative displays and engaging the children

    • Testimonials from teachers, headteachers, parents and others are welcome 

  • Sustainability Award

    This award will be presented to a teacher or school who demonstrates excellence in environmental sustainability. Teachers or schools can nominate themselves or teachers can be nominated by others, including governors, the governing board, teaching staff and parents. If you’re nominating someone else, please check first that they’re happy to be put forward. 

    Entry requirements:  

    • Please provide tangible evidence that thoughtful and considered environmental sustainability has had a positive impact. We’ll take into account how the sustainability measures you/your nominee have implemented have impacted different aspects of school life

    • Please include any relevant data and case studies 

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award

    Have you, your colleague, your team or your school developed and/or implemented diversity, equity and inclusion measures or projects that support a diverse student population, or enable better understanding and approaches among students towards diversity, equity and inclusion? Whether they’re whole-school initiatives or schemes that have benefitted specific targeted groups – we’d love to hear about them! 

    The winner of this award could be an individual, a team or a school, if you’re nominating someone else, please check first that they’re happy to be put forward. 

    This award was established because we believe that  all young people deserve the right to succeed.

    • We want to see evidence of your/your nominee's, team's or school's work and contributions

    • Testimonials from teachers, headteachers, parents and others are welcome 

    • We’re looking for tangible evidence of the thoughtful and considered implementation of successful diversity, equity and inclusion measures
