Newly planned for 2025-2027 using the new PSHE Association Competencies model and the RSE 2025 Policy release.
This resource includes a work booklet that our students use for Jan-Feb Half term, whereby we support the Year 9 Options Process within PSHE lessons. Our middle leaders in the school provide a recording, over a powerpoint, that we share within PSHE lessons, and students then complete the booklet. This supports their understanding of the courses, and provides a structured/tailored approach to the Y9 Options evening, that parents can attend, whereby students already have an idea of who they want to see. It has worked really well.
This resource includes the work booklet, and the HSC powerpoint that is given to middle leaders to edit and record over (using the powerpoint recording function), HSC is my subject and therefore used as an example, but this can be edited very easily.
What we have found helpful with this approach, is that once you have all of the videos, you can add them to the student area as a library. Meaning students who are new starters after Y9 can access them to decide which options to take at your school. In addition, the videos have meant students who are harder to reach e.g. attendance to evening events, or behaviour meaning they are in internal suspension- can access the same knowledge of courses, without needing to attend the Options evening.

Everything you need for a brand new Key Stage 3 PSHE. Newly planned in 2025, taking into consideration the new RSHE framework for 2026 onwards. This unit uses the PSHE Association Competencies model. Each lesson has a retrieval starter, followed by clear teacher speak, multiple activities, videos and mostly a 15-20 minutes practice task that allows for an opportunity to be creative, reflective or show deeper understanding. Each unit has a baseline assessment, which is revisited at the end and is self-marking/reflective. The lessons are completely editable. Everything for the unit is within the work booklet, meaning once they are printed, there is not need to print and circulate additional resources e.g. reading material is inside the booklet. Each booklet has a 39 week plan included, so you can see how other units are mapped out.
