I found this flash animation free on the internet and it was one of the best finds I've ever had. You can use it in any lesson when giving pupils 30s thinking time during quizzes. I hope you get as much enjoyment as I have with my classes.
Countdown clock with options of 15, 30, 45 and 60 seconds. Also options for with/without letters. Good tool for literacy: spelling, generating specific word family and also handy for fast maths mental starters.
This is an almost identical copy of Channel 4's Countdown clock that is used in the television programme.
Made entirely from shapes in Powerpoint, it uses the traditional thirty second timer that can be used in school assemblies, classes or any sort or even as a starter or plenary. It also uses the 30 second music from the TV show.
It has been fully tested on both Mac & Pc (but not on Keynote).
This booklet (and SoW) is aimed at KS3 - year 7 in particular but could be used with year 8. It covers Folk music of the British Isles - but could easily be adapted for Folk Music from around the world. Includes AfL and Peer Assessment sheets, keyboard activities as well as discussion sheets - Venn diagrams and Think, Pair, Share activities. Good luck!
