## Algebra Card Sort: Equation, words, input/outputs

Hand sheet to learners. Nice way to introduce solving equations, graphs and other algebra topics at KS3: 1. Ask them to match operation in words to equation then fill out the blanks/missing cards 2. Ask them to match the input output variable tables/sets to the right equation, and fill in the blanks Penty of scope for discussion, questions to branch out to other algebra topics

This is an updated version of one of our original packs. We've more than doubled the size of the pack to 72 pages. We've more than doubled the value by producing 12 sets of Task Cards to enable children to compute addition and subtraction.
Students are asked to spot the rule and to fill in the missing numbers of the patterns. There is also the opportunity to identify the numbers that are incorrect within the input output table.
These task cards will save you time as you simply print and go.
If you wish, you can laminate the individually numbered cards and reuse them. We have included recording sheets so that your students can work through them and a set of blank cards for both types of sets in case any go missing!!!
Want them for journals? Well just simply print and go. Glue them into journals for your students to complete. We have found these extremely useful in small group activities, whole class activities and independent maths centres. The children enjoy the independence of picking up a card and finding the answers. These cards have enabled my class to apply their understanding of addition and subtraction.
A comprehensive Answer Booklet is included in the download so the work will be quick and easy to mark.
Like this? Then why not check out our Place value Printables, our Inverse operations or our Time Printables for journals.

I am an NQT. This is a template for planning a sequence of lessons in one hit. I am trying to achieve the right balance between a simple, fast way to plan and enough content to produce good lessons. Comments very gratefully received.

#### Algebra: Solving Quadratic Equations Bundle (all methods - 3 or 4 lessons)

This is a bundle to teach ALL aspects of solving quadratic equations. All lessons that I teach come with the usual starter, great examples, lesson objectives, key words, questions with answers, plenary etc...
Lesson One - Solving Quadratics by factorising (could be two lessons easily, especially if the class is weak in factorising - also worth looking at my excellent lessons on factorising)
Lesson Two - Solving Quadratics by using the Formula (again could be two lessons)
Lesson Three - Solving Quadratics by Completing the Square
NOTE: Quadratic Graphs I have grouped with different types of further graphs!!
NOTE: Also added in a simple MWB proforma and revision worksheet I created
NOTE: These lessons are available as singles if you prefer.
