Revision tool which regenerates new questions and self marks! For use on pupil shared areas, all questions modeled on past SATs.
Great alternative to use alongside practice papers, all answers will turn green when correct giving immediate feedback, hence also saves on printing/photocopying and marking.
This can also be put on as many machines as you like, once downloaded put on your school network for pupils to work on-screen (no complex installation just copy to the shared area) and generate a new set of questions with one click! (Just click 'calculate now' and a new set will be generated each time.) This will also be good practice for the use of on-screen tests.
Differentiated! - There is a support page, middle ability page and an extension page. On the last page are corresponding target lists which can be used for self assessment, tracking or to focus intervention.
Great for revising multiple topics whilst improving fluency and mental maths skills, and also includes a times tables booster!
(NB: Requires Microsoft Excel- Please read the instructions!!- check in settings that automatic calculations are switched off- just click formulas- calculation options- tick manual) (read only version to prevent pupils from saving any changes, just select yes when opening)
*** please message me via TES community if you have any questions regarding technical settings***
With the New Curriculum in force and Levels gone I have taken it upon myself to create a new assessment grid for Science. It works the same way as an APP grid. It also includes the Working Scientifically criteria. Like the New Curriculum, each assessment grid has been grouped into age ranges, KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2. Rather than Levels, which I know OFSTED are dead against, I have gone with 'Stages' which admittedly is essentially the same thing as Levels, but by a different name, Having tested these myself I know that these grids are handy assessment tools, with simple highlighting needed, with dates, to show how well each child has done.
This 6 lesson unit comes with an editable MTP plus 6 separate lesson packs. We have endeavoured to use: new, unconventional, creative and modern ideas that will really engage children, but also use familiar materials for teachers that are common to all schools or easy to obtain.
Children will build, discuss, design, plan, create and evaluate throughout, as they construct 3D models including a flint axe, a mask and a Stone Age cave. 2D art includes an impressive Skara Brae scene and a lesson full of experimentation involving studying animal fur. Every lesson has some cross-curricula elements including: reading comprehension, writing, and of course history plus they all come with a custom reflective self-evaluation sheet, all designed to perfectly compliment the new 2014 curriculum.
This whole unit is easy to teach, rewarding and will provide many items that children will treasure for a long time. Adaptable for KS1.

Everything you need for a great art lesson that matches the new 2014 curriculum. Children will design, plan and then create a highly engaging clay Space item that they could well treasure for years. Starter, teaching input with video links for techniques, 4 different design options with a range of difficulties and reflective self-assessment plenary make up a truly great lesson that will be fun to teach. Items will need to be painted so this actually will involve more than one session.
Complete cross-curricula lesson with unique, easy to understand graphic instructions that children need to comprehend and then follow. Children plan, practice and then create an incredible 2D Space scene picture complete with planets, stars and a rocket using a variety of artistic mediums with easy to source, commonly found in school, art materials. Starter, brief teaching input and reflective self-evaluation plenary worksheets are all included, plus an optional writing activity for early finishers. Lesson length approx 2 hours KS1 children may need to have the lesson adapted slightly, information on this is in the teachers' notes.
My own resources, some pictures removed so as copyright not infringed. Copy and paste pictures from internet if needed.
These are my plans as I have used to teach them. Some parts are omitted however most activities are there. I hope they are useful for you. Adapt them and use as you would like.
Week three my class found difficult. (Might have been loss of teaching because of half term).
Children loved making pizzas at our Italian pizza class. Resources have been exported from an Activ-primary flip-chart. (Which also includes Italian Pizzeria style music.) Fun to play when the children are making their pizzas or working. If you would like original please message me.

These ‘Library Challenge’ cards were made for my class library, but they could be used in a school library as well. The idea was just to get the children excited about reading and properly engaged with the books, and they’ve really enjoyed working through the activities – an added bonus being that I use this work to decorate the walls of our library.
There’s a selection of 10 Library Challenge Cards, plus a ‘Library Challenge of the Week’ which just allows for changing things up a little without having to print and laminate more cards.
