Food Glorious Food
This poem is a comic recitation of a variety of meals and dishes. It finishes with a word of caution about overeating. Teaching points to draw out in discussion Talk with the children about the food they like. Ask them what they know about healthy eating. Explain why some foods are better for them than others. See if they can separate out the healthy options from the ‘junk’ food in the poem. The poem is written by Roger Hurn.
