Dominoes games are ideal for German class, providing students with an opportunity to learn and practise language entirely independently, either alone, or collaboratively in pairs or small groups. Students challenge themselves and each other to create a time-sequence line, on the classroom floor or on a long(ish) table, by matching the times and clock faces. Half past the hour and 25 to & past the hour can be quite challenging in German, and regular and frequent focused practice works really well for students.

The games work well in various learning contexts, for example learn and practice during the introductory phase, refresh and revise throughout the school year and activities for sub / cover lessons. Playing in teams against a timer adds a popular competitive element, which students find really motivating. Each set has three games, each with a differentiated level of challenge.
