A SMART file showing the pictures of the story with no captions. An great activity to promote speaking and listening. Once children are familiar with the story, have a line of children to take turns telling the story - when you click on the next slide, the next child takes over. Also a good prompt for shared writing. Focus on just one picture slide and use mini whiteboards to write a sentence about that part of the story.
I made the first powerpoint using the words from the exampler materials sent out to school introducing the new phonics screening test for year 1. As the children will be expected to read both real and made up words, the latter being on flash cards showing an alien, I used the idea of 'alien names' so that the children become familiar with the format. My children love reading the real words and 'alien names' during letters and sounds, so I made a second powerpoint. As I make more I will add them. I hope your children enjoy them as much as mine do!
I've started to create comprehension sheets to go with our new guided reading scheme, along the same lines as my other uploaded ones for Oxford Reading Tree that seem quite popular. I&'ll upload others as I make them.
Just finished this assembly with my Y5 class, it went so well and they loved it.
It involves an 'X factor' style show where each Greek god auditions to be king of the gods, whilst telling the audience a little bit about the Ancient Greeks.
It involves throwing confetti at the audience, a dance routine to music from Disney's Hercules, and a boy dressing up as Cheryl Cole....if you want.
Adapt and use as you want. Enjoy.

This is a resource pack based around the Devising Log in Component 2 (Devising Drama). I have gone through and broken the exemplar answers provided by AQA into sections and given ideas as to how a student may wish to structure their work.
I found this very useful, personally, in understanding what needed to be within each section and have used it to inform my planning for the year ahead.
I hope you find it of use.
