Healthy Snacks Digital Teaching Box
The Healthy Snacking Digital Teaching Box contains materials to support your students as they learn about healthy snacks. The digital teaching box uses a variety of multi-sensory learning activities that address different learning styles of students.

Included in this teaching box:

a class book (What Snack Will You Choose?),
a healthy snack poster activity,
a word sort (Go, Slow, and Stop Snacks),
an original song (Eat, Eat Healthy Snacks),
3 snacking surveys,
3 dictionary options (full page and booklets),
posters and trading cards (Crazy Connections),
a matching game (Vocabulary Words and Pictures),
a role play activity (Healthy Snacking Detective Role Play Activity),
a student booklet (Healthy Snacks Student Booklet),
word wall cards, and
a word list.

Consider creating the activities and placing them in a “teaching box” to use during the unit. You can then pull out the activities as needed. An optional student activity booklet is included. Students can complete these pages at the end of the activities to determine student learning.

The activities in this package of materials support student learning of:

common vocabulary used to talk about snacking,
the role food and water play in being healthy,
how to determine if a snack is healthy or unhealthy,
how to describe a snack using the five senses,
the benefits of healthy snacking,
the connection between healthy snacking and energy, and
personal preferences for snacking.
