Insect Acrostic Poems: Tiered Writing Templates
The insect acrostic poems are tiered to meet the different needs of the students in your class. If this is the first time students compose acrostic poems, be sure to model how to write this type of poem. There are three different templates and a variety of options for using the templates. Choose the template and option that best meets the needs of your students. The templates are available with and without images. The templates with images are in color and in black and white.

Option One: Students print one word that starts with each target

Option Two: Students print a couple of words or a phrase that begins with each target letter.

Option Three: Students write a sentence for each target letter.

Option Four: Challenge students by asking them to use alliteration in their acrostic poems.

Templates are available for the following insects:
- ants
