Insect Tiered Anticipation Guides
Use these tiered anticipation guides to pre-assess, formatively assess, or summatively assess your students during an insect unit!

The “Insects Tiered Anticipation Guides” package contains 3 different anticipation guides that you can use with your students.

The first version requires students to answer “Yes” or “No” to each of the statements. It can be used at the start of the unit as a pre-assessment and then at the end of the unit to show student learning.

The second version contains the same statements but requires students to answer “True” or “False” and rewrite the “false” statements to make them true. This anticipation guide can be given at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the unit to assess students and provide evidence of their learning.

The third version contains the same statements as version one and two but requires students to give a reason for their choice of “true” or “false.” This anticipation guide can be given at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the unit to assess students and provide evidence of their learning.

Choose the anticipation guide that best meets the needs of the students in your class. You may decide to use the same anticipation guides with all your students or give students different anticipation guides depending on their learning needs.
