Numberphile Index up to 27/09/2018

The YouTube channel Numberphile is a rich resource of short video clips that can be used to inspire students in lessons and in maths clubs.

The searchable index is designed to make finding appropriate videos easier. Using the search cell keywords can be highlighted and then filtered by colour.
The index can also be filtered by Key Stage, curriculum area or topic.

The videos have female and male mathematicians from all over the world, illustrating the diversity of mathematics as well as giving a glimpse into some of the secrets of the subject ancient and modern. They have mathematicians doing accessible mathematics, explaining concepts or posing problems. It enables students to see mathematics in action that otherwise may not be possible e.g. if you write out a million digits of pi how long would the paper need to be?

These classifications of topics are there to help teachers, but as with everything, the videos should be watched to know how best to encourage mathematical discussion from them. Not all should be watched in entirety. Any feedback will improve the index.
