Poetry writing KS3 pack that explores language, structure, form and meaning of poetry by asking students to create their own poems.

These are heavily modelled and scaffolded, so that students can learn how to analyse poetry through their own creative writing.

This packs will be completed in the next few weeks.

It currently includes:

  1. Poetry writing introduction
  2. Rhyme and its effects - Wordsworth’s I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud and Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven
  3. Sonnet writing (form, structure, conventions) - Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18
  4. Pathetic fallacy and personification - John Donne and John Keats
