Rhyme Ladder
Choose a starting word and place at the bottom of the Rhyme Ladder. Encourage students to think of real and 'nonsense' words which rhyme with the starting one, e.g. 'ladder', 'sadder', 'gadder', 'dadder' etc. By simply replacing the initial sound (phoneme), students will learn that they can make rhyming words.
