This is Version 2 of the Sex & History resource pack. It has been developed jointly by Brook, the RSE Hub and the University of Exeter.
Description of the resource:
This resource provides session plans and ideas that can be used in SRE and PSHE Key Stage 4 and 5, but can also be used in a history lesson, a drama or art project or an out-of-school youth setting.
It uses images of historical objects as an innovative way of tackling those tricky subjects outside of the biology of sex, such as body-image, gender roles, consent and the impact of pornography on ideas of healthy relationships.
Description of files within this resource:
1. Teachers' Guide Resource Pack (.pdf) for educators, including an introduction to the Sex & History methodology, 4 Core Session Plans based around historical objects, tools to Make Your Own Session plan, high resolution images for printing, exercises sheets and feedback forms.
2. Powerpoint presentation (.pptx) including embedded videos which can enhance the Core Sessions Plans (but not essential for delivery) .
