This is a full set of exam-style questions, designed as mock exams for the IGCSE English Literature Paper 1: Poetry and Prose exams in 2019. The assessment includes exam-ready versions of the poems, each followed by an exam-style question, for Songs of Ourselves, Volume 1, Part 3 poems, examined in 2019, 2020, and 2021! The assessments are print-and-use ready. You can either use each poem + exam question separately or combine two poems to better approximate the exam requirements of writing two essays in 1h 30 minutes.
I’ve also included MODEL ANSWERS / ESSAY RESPONSES for all the poems and the questions that appear in the assessment parts. This can be used as a kind of ‘examiner’s notes’, to either help teachers correct student responses, or as a study aid and revision aid by students who wish to review their own sample responses etc.
