The Art of Mathematics - Ancient Egyptian Figures
The Art of Mathematics looks at a variety of artists and styles of art. For each artistic style we give a brief history of origin, links to examples of the style and ideas for mathematical activities to go with specific styles. This article looks at Ancient Egyptian Figures which decorate the walls of the tombs in Egypt keeping history alive. Pupils are asked to create an ancient Egyptian god or king using the same proportions as the ancient Egyptians did using grids.
