This lesson exemplar is just one way of taking some of the ideas from our small steps guidance for Sequences into an introductory lesson for sequences. It covers both these small steps:
- Describe and continue a sequence given diagrammatically
- Predict and check the next term(s) of a sequence)
It is not intended in any way to be prescriptive, or an “ideal lesson” as how you plan your lesson will of course depend on the length of your lessons, how many you have per week and the prior attainment of your class…and many other factors! Nonetheless, as an illustration of how a lesson might work. we hope you will find it useful. There are notes pages for each slide that explain our thinking and how we envisage it being delivered in the classroom.
As ever, all feedback welcome - The White Rose Secondary Team
