I used the emotive topic on zoos to get the children writing and revising how to structure argument texts. I worked them in writing threes for this (a top/middle/bottom writer together) but it could be done independently or in pairs. I used the TV debate sheet as an independent writing task as practise under SATs like timing (45 minutes) at the end of the module.
