I have included two versions, with and without color background. INSTRUCTIONS The objective of the game is to make four of a kind as soon as possible. In each group there is 1 picture card illustrating a particular farm animal and 3 sentence cards describing that animal. The game can be played in groups of 8 students. If there are less than 8 students, you must take out the corresponding number of four-of-a-kind group of cards. If there are more than 8 students, you may print another copy of the game and add the corresponding number of four-of-a-kind group of cards. Shuffle well and deal 4 cards to each player. All cards must be dealt. All the students put down one card, discarding to their left. Then, they all take the card on their right. They keep doing it, silently, until they all reach four of a kind. El calendario - Card Game

El calendario - Card Game

This game is a Spanish version of the classic " I have… Who has …? " game, designed to practice revising a unit on weather and clothes by asking and answering about seasons, weather, months, days of the week, birthdays, holidays, numbers, clothes etc. This is an easy-to-play game and a great way to practice essential language concepts with the whole class. As students match up the answers on their cards with questions on other students’ cards, they get valuable practice with vocabulary, as well as reading and listening skills. Directions: Cut out the cards along the dotted line and laminate. For bigger classes, you might want to print several copies of each set. Give out all the cards in the set to the students. It is important to use all the cards. Choose a student to go first. I usually do that by a counting rhyme. Have the selected student read the question at the bottom of the card aloud and then put the card down. The student who has the card with the answer then reads that answer aloud. This student will then read the question at the bottom of their card and put the card down. Play continues in this fashion until all of the cards have been played. The game will end with the same student who started play. Every card in the set is connected to a card before it and a card after it. To keep the game moving at a quick pace, all students need to pay attention to every question that has been asked. I tell my younger students that this is a magic game and that the magic only works if you pay attention, which is actually true. The magic happens in the end, when the question on the last card actually matches the answer on the very first card. Enjoy!

Spanish Months and Age - How old are you? KS1/2

A lesson plan and resources for teaching children how to respond to the question 'How old are you?' in Spanish and for learning the Months of the Year (linking to age and birthday month) I used this resource with able KS1 children but would probably work for lower KS2 too. The lesson takes about an hour (depending on size of group, ability of children and how long you choose to spend on some of the interactive activities. N.B. This lesson requires some prior knowledge of numbers (I taught this lesson a week or so after teaching my 'Introductions and Numbers' lesson also available for download) The plan contains 3 sections: an introduction - circle time activity main - interactive games, flash card activities and practical group activities independent activity and goodbye - time to complete independent worksheets and activities and say goodbye. Resources include: Flash Cards for display and matching activity (in Spanish and English) Make your own month clock (two versions blank and illustrated) Months word search and answers Writing practice worksheet. Lesson Plan The objectives of this lesson are: By the end of the session most children will: • Have practiced Spanish greetings and revised numbers • Be able to answer the question ‘How old are you?’ in Spanish • Know their birthday month and be learning others. The planning is fairly flexible you can spend longer on some parts than others, do activities as a whole class or print multiple resources and work as smaller groups - whatever works for your group of children! I have included both word and PDF versions of the documents

Do Now: Realidades 3B Vocab

This is a DO NOW or warm up activity for Spanish class every day based on the food unit 3B from Realidades. I created memes to go with each day, and it increases in difficulty to complete each day, building up their vocabulary and written Spanish skills. Easy to modify if using a similar food unit, or a particular tense! I converted to microsoft word so you can edit it, so you might need to add one space to make it spilt exactly on two pages if you're not using pages - otherwise I've left it a pretty open template so that you don't need to change anything (kids fill in the date etc!)
