Remembrance Day - Time to Remember Assembly and Lesson Ideas

Remembrance Day - Time to Remember Assembly and Lesson Ideas

A brief discussion of the themes behind Remembrance Day and how this can be introduced to young children in Primary Schools and carried forward with older children in Secondary Schools. There is information about the history of Remembrance Day, practical ideas for how to deal with the complex issues with children at an appropriate level and where to find further information. The ideas here can be used in lessons or assemblies, as you feel appropriate and right for your children. It can be tied to RE and PSE curricula.

World Religion Bundle

World Religion Bundle

This is my world religion bundle. It has images of different religions and the different religious symbols. It is a nice one to use to compare and contrast different religions, their places of worship and styles of dress. The images could be used as part of a display or to stimulate a conversation in the classroom.

Year 1 assembly on forgiveness

Year 1 assembly on forgiveness

This resource is an assembly script I created for my year 1 class for a religious assembly on the value of forgiveness. It is based around the story of John Newton who wrote the hymn Amazing Grace. There are different parts and lots of narrator parts for children to act out, there are also ideas for songs. This assembly script can be easily differentiated for other year groups or adapted to take out the religious aspects of the assembly. There is an accompanying powerpoint presentation (of pictures), the script identifies when the slides need to be changed.

Palm Sunday 2017 PowerPoint Presentation Could be used for an assembly or in class. There is a link to a video on YouTube - this will only work if you have internet connection and YouTube is not blocked within your organisation. It is linked into the presentation so you shouldn't have you close the presentation to show it. I have saved it in two versions on PowerPoint, if you have an older version.
