Do you find that your students struggle with patterning? These patterning cards for cubes will help guide your students through building and extending patterns. There are over 1,000 patterns included, but don't feel the need to print all of them! The AB, AAB, and ABB patterns are provided in all possible options for each color in case you don’t have cubes in all the colors. Take a look through your cubes and note which colors you have that match the cards included – there is a color guide included with the teacher's notes. The more complex patterns (ABC, AABC, ABBC, ABCC, and ABCD) are only made with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink cubes. You will notice the cards are organized by the color each pattern starts with. For instance, the first 6 pages of the AAB patterns all begin with the color red. If you don’t have the color red, simply skip printing those pages.I highly suggest you laminate these cards so they can be used for several years! The great thing about having so many pattern cards to choose from is that you can work on a particular pattern, such as AABC, with your entire class at once! If you don’t need several patterning cards, I suggest printing one from each color section of the pattern you need. This download also comes with 30 different recording sheets that can be used as a recording sheet for centers, an extension of a patterning lesson, or even for assessments.
