An assembly all about the impact that random acts of kindness can have. It explores why we need to be kind to each other, the effect small acts can have on our family, friends and the wider communities and in turn our own emotional wellbeing. The assembly lasts around 20 minutes, including a short clip.
As part of the assembly you will need to place three Post-Its randomly where the children will sit. You will be calling those three students who sit on a Post-It up to give them a small gift (perhaps a tube of Smarties). You will then ask them questions about how they feel - this is to show the impact of an act of kindness when people aren’t expecting it (which scientists have shown to have more impact than if they are).
The assembly is very easy to follow (and has additional teacher notes in the slide-notes of the PowerPoint). It is also editable. There are more slides in the actual assembly - this is just a small selection for the preview.

Another great Christmas Activity.
Your students are going to love working on this Christmas Activity. And what a great way to reinforce co-operation amongst classmates while creating a bulletin board display.
Each student is given an individual tree (all decorated with things they may want for Christmas). Students will color and then cut out their individual tree and then use it to build a giant tree together.
Decorate the hallway, your classroom door or a bulletin board.
What you get:
42 Trees - each tree is decorated with something that students may wish for Christmas - bike, music instruments, books, friendship, love, peace, gifts, new clothes, snow, beach, dog, cat, fish, sports equipment, etc.
There are 2 blank tree designs so your students can design their own tree.
each individual tree uses just 1 piece of 8.5 x 11 paper
Your Bulletin Board design could include 4 trees, 9 trees, 16 trees, 25 trees, etc. You decide what works based on the # of students in your class.
Individually, one tree is fun. Together, the collaborative result is fantastic. Look at the preview to see all of the options.
What you need:
paper, scissors, coloring pencils, glue, wall space
Always make sure you download and save the project before printing! Sometimes customers just right click on the preview of a download and things don’t print properly!
Hope you love this Christmas Craft. I have many other Christmas Crafts available on my site.

A game I made for my small class of learners with autism. Suitable for any small group introduction - e.g. intervention group, speech and language, attention and listening. Learners throw a dice and move around the board. When they land on a question, they answer the question. I like to ask another member of the group a question relating to the answer, to encourage learners to pay attention to each other's answers - my children tend to have very little interest in each other!
Supports social skills, attention and listening, turn taking.
Used for specialist autism group but appropriate for any mainstream KS1 / KS2 group or older SEN group.
