Resources for able Y9 groups using Expo 3 Rouge, working on the topic 'L'avenir'. Covers near future tense for talking about plans for the weekend, future tense for talking about longer term plans, si clauses. I will add more to complete the topic when it&'s ready.

6-8 week module based on Expo 2, Module 1. Aimed at Year 8, Set 3 of 4. Includes a lot of revision from Year 7 (family, where you live, present tense) plus jobs and the weather. Unfortunately lessons 5 and 6 are missing due to memory stick issues. A few slides may have been taken from other TES resources. Resources to accompany the film "Tomboy" (2011) for able Y9 pupils. Main focus is describing characters in 3rd person but some general reading comprehension (true or false about the story) and work on how characters feel, plus predictions for what will/should happen next. Lots of opportunities for discussion in English - SMSC. 19/04/15 - Added final 2 lessons (1 matching quotations to characters, watching and discussing ending, 1 writing a comparison of 2 main characters).

Match-up sheet for computer room lesson: -Match-up phrases to recap 3rd person. -Research a sports personality and fill in profile (basic answers, not full sentences) then type up in neat, produce a poster. Reading activity as preparation for writing a profile of a famous sports person as part of end of module assessment.

Updated 25/3 - More lessons for Vert added. Resources for the first few lessons on this module with 2 different classes. Covers similar ground but more quickly for Rouge (they have fewer lessons) and with tenses. References to reading tasks may be other files I have uploaded here. I have taken a few slides (mostly typed up textbook resources) from other resources found on TES so thanks if that was you!

Goes with Mira 1, Module 2 (refers to listening exercises from the textbook, but there's plenty of useful stuff on the slides if you don&'t have access to this). My class are Y9 beginners Spanish, but this would be equally suitable for Y7. Lesson 1 - using cognates to work out school subjects, listening, writing about what subjects you study/don&';t study. Lesson 2 - vocab recap pic reveal, days of the week, reading. Lesson 3 - gender, listening, adjectives, using dictionary, opinion phrases.

Introducing and using colours creatively with Year 7, based on poems by French primary children found online. Lesson 1: Presentation of colours and opinions. Lesson 2: Reading a poem, highlighting key features (nouns, adjectives), discussing similes. Pupils write first couplet of poem. Lesson 3: Preparing for independent working - dictionary skills, how to know if a word is masculine or feminine. Adjectival agreements. Continue drafting poem. 1 or 2 more lessons needed to produce display work.

Several weeks worth of powerpoint slides following Expo 3 Vert Module 2 (L'avenir). Starts with on va + infinitive, mostly talking about free time. Then introduces rest of aller, and focuses on je vais + infinitive for writing a timeline of future plans at different ages. Have also included a few worksheets.

UPDATE: Added version for a more able group, including reading task. Goes with Expo 2 Vert, Module 3, Unit 1 'Tu veux sortir?' Covers 3 lessons with a low ability Y8 group. 1st lesson - activities/infinitives. Slide 4 is a sheet to print off. Forming Qs with 'tu veux', speaking activity. 2nd lesson - reading task. Understanding more detailed messages with meeting place, time, etc. 3rd lesson - writing own invitation. Extension work on French text speak.

Powerpoints aimed at very high ability KS4 working towards a controlled assessment on Healthy Living. I will add each week's resources as I get to them. -Week 1 - present tense, advanced negatives, pronouns y and en. -Week 2 - food groups, nutrition, describing different foods (EXT: bien que + subjunctive). (JUST ADDED: Guess the food reading which I had missed off before.) -Week 3 - sports and exercise - using jouer and faire in a range of tenses (+ time phrases) -Week 4 - imperfect tense. How your lifestyle differed in the past - Week 4b - Mauvaises habitudes. Opinions of smoking and alcohol. -Week 5 - Giving advice for a healthy lifestyle (with il faut, on doit, il est important de) (EXT: il faut que + subjunctive) -Week 6 - Your future plans for a healthy lifestyle I have added a checklist for pupils to self assess when preparing their draft (C grade and A grade version). The documents entitled "Revision" are helpsheets for pupils to refer to when producing written work.

Pictures cut out and stick around the room. 1 grid between 2-3 pupils. 1 pupil per team can get up and bring back information to fill in the grid (fill in with the Spanish captions from under the pictures). Extension (especially if using with KS4) - cards with Spanish descriptions to match up. Powerpoint gives some clues to help with extension, then goes through answers, then has a quiz to finish.
