Various resources for low ability Y8 class.
Follows Expo 2 Vert.
A few weeks of powerpoint slides + worksheets and other resources used in class.
The reading task (Reading A and Reading B) was sent out to pupils electronically so some had the underlined version to give them hints.
Pupils have learned various shops/key buildings in down.
Pupils have learned some basic directions and prepositions.
In pairs - one person has the map, other person has a copy of the directions. Map-holder asks Qs (see top-right of page) and partner reads from the directions. Map-holder fills in empty boxes on map.
Extension for those who finish first - add in some other places and write sentences describing their location.
EDIT 17/09/17 - Updated version of these resources and resources for higher ability can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/les-vacances-higher-ability-ks3-holidays-topic-11272132 and here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/year-8-les-vacances-expo-2-module-5-updated-11067410 (for some reason this old one seems more popular but I think people just aren't finding the newer ones).
EDIT 24/06/14 - Added some more lessons to Powerpoint and a couple more worksheets.
For Year 8 groups on Expo 2 Module 5.
First couple of lessons - countries, nationalities, saying where you usually go and where you went last year.
Puzzle sheet and link to consolidate on a Friday afternoon.
More lessons will be added as I go along.
Lesson to introduce the simple future tense to mid/low ability Y10 (who had only done immediate future in KS3).
To do the listening, you need to have Kerboodle. I have added a gapfill activity to exploit the Kerboodle sound file in a different way.
Differentiated lesson.
Most able - range of subjects, some si clauses with set sentence openers
Least able - 1st person (other subjects with support).
Lesson introducing low ability Y8 to describing a photo (for AQA GCSE Foundation Writing style task).
Context = Zipi y Zape y el Club de la Cánica - prior to watching the film.
Added lesson on understanding character descriptions (to accompany watching the film).
