This lesson is thus very teacher-led at the start, engaging students in a different range of activities which go at a fast and dynamic pace. 3 differentiated sentence builders I created to get students speaking about: Kapitel 3 - Was machst du in deiner Freizeit? Kapitel 4 - Was gibt es in deinem Klassenzimmer? Kapitel 4 - Was gibt es in deiner Stadt? These have proved successful with my students, as they haven’t not only aided with speaking tasks, but they’ve loved to refer to them for writing tasks as well, as they know exactly what to do in order to produce high quality sentences. Each builder includes step by step ideas on how to extend sentences to go from a grade B to A*.

A nice differentiated pair speaking task where student A and B take turns to test each other in the understanding of topic vocabulary. Suitable for the GCSE topic of special occasions and festivities. Student A has a set of 15 sentences to review the topic of special occasions and festivals that student B needs to answer correctly in order to move up the ladder, one at a time. A has the correct translations of these sentences. Student B has another set of 15 sentences (with the meaning as well) to test A.
