This is a basic introduction to Python. It consists of over 130 slides that will guide students through the basics with exercises to do throughout and 2 worksheets.
NB If students copy and paste code from the worksheet documents then their code will NOT work! So you will to warn them of this (due to spaces, indentation, etc in the document).
Included in these resources are a teacher presentation that explains what binary is, how binary is used, how to convert from binary to decimal and how to convert decimal to binary. It also includes worksheets to go with the presentation and an assessment sheet.
This assessment sheet allows students to record:

It enables students to discuss what improvements they made to their work based on self-assessment, peer assessment and teacher assessment.
A guide to topics for each term that can be taught in Year 7 - it could also be used for Year 8 with a change to e.g. Scratch in place of Kodu (obviously depending on how far into the new Computing curriculum you are)

Photoshop Tennis is fun!
Photoshop Tennis allows students to be creative.
This lesson allows students to work independently or in pairs.
Each workstation will have a keyword. Students will add an image to the canvas based on the keyword e.g. if the keyword is weight a student may add an image of somebody who is obese, the next may add an image of a person who has anorexia, and so on.
Students will complete the worksheet at each workstation to document what they have done, the source of their image, etc.
An option may be for the teacher to create a Behance account (www.behance.net) and create a team page for the students to upload the final images to.
