This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at act four of Othello and the manipulative nature of Iago. The lesson has been designed to help learners understand key extracts of the play and apply their understanding to an exam-style question. The lesson has a model response and helps learners to understand how to structure their own response. This lesson has been tried and tested with my own groups and has been designed to be taught either online or face-to-face and requires no additional printing. The lesson helps learners understand the perception of good and evil within Victorian sociaty and how this is conveyed within the novella. The lesson focuses on the character of Iago and his development throughout the play and his ability to manipulate Roderigo to do his bidding. The lesson helps learners to understand some of the key concepts within the play, analyse key extracts of act five, and apply their understanding to an exam-style question.
