Full KS3 Project Bundle which can cover the entire of KS3 Product Design, representing a significant saving over buying individually. In these outstanding, creative scheme of work, students are tasked with designing and making a product in line with a specific brief. With practical, written and theory work closely related to the new 1-9 GCSE Design Technology Specification and the NEA. Each project lasts a full term (12 or 6 week) project though could be condensed or even further extended. It covers the entire iterative (non-linear) design process as well as relatable theory. The SOW can be adapted to be taught at KS3 or KS4. Pupils’ love being creative with this hands-on project.** In this unit, pupils will gain an understanding into Science, technology, engineering and maths and how each interrelate with a series of applied practical tasks.** Students familiarise themselves with the keywords then there is a design and make task, applying their understanding of the theory learnt, which can be done in a group or individually. All lessons have strong cross-curricular links, particularly with Science. There is also peer assessment with clear success criteria included. ♦ Starter Activity ♦ Class discussion/individual tasks ♦ Practicals Lessons are planned as doubles (90/120 minutes). In this lesson, students are introduced to fossil fuels and their impact on the environment through global warming in line with GCSE assessment criteria for Design and Technology. The lesson consists of videos, class discussions, a writing task and finally a design task. Pupils love being creative with this hands-on project. **Students are tasked with designing a geodesic dome property then creating a geodesic structure out of jelly sweets and cocktail sticks. ** In this lesson, students are introduced to the benefits of geodesic domes and sustainable living/liberating architecture. Students familiarise themselves with the keywords; there is a design task (estate agent advert for their dome) before applying their understanding in the practical task, which can be done in a group or individually. The lesson has strong cross-curricular links, particularly with Science and Engineering.
