NEW SPEC KNOWLEDGE ORGANISER AQA Component 1 (study of religions) ISLAM Key Duties and Festivals GCSE AQA - Revision Knowledge Organiser. GCSE AQA - (made for Spec A AQA but easily amended). It can easily be printed out and given to students without even having to explain any of the terminology as all explanation is here for them. There are lots of quotes for students to study and remember, all highlighted in bold with exact Qur’an references. There is a section for students to complete and RAG-rate as they study and test themselves, so they know what they need to come back to. It’s A3 size and would work great as a revision poster for a student’s wall at home. Exam practice question and peer assessment mark scheme for Citizenship GCSE 9-1 AQA 8 mark questions. This was created as part of a two hour lesson for Citizenship GCSE 9-1 with a focus on: 3.4.2 What are the powers of local and devolved government and how can citizens participate? The debate about ‘English votes for English laws’. Who can stand for election and how candidates are selected. Who can and cannot vote in elections and why; debates about the voting age. Issues relating to voter turnout, voter apathy and suggestions for increasing vote turnout at elections. The full lesson can be found here.

Updated! An introduction lesson for AQA Citizenship GCSE 9-1. The lesson goes through all the different modules, how they are assessed, what each section is worth in terms of marks in the exam and introduces many of the new key terms and concepts students will be covering over the course. The lesson includes a detailed, 1 hour PowerPoint, information sheets, differentiated activity worksheets, differentiated challenge activities and clips tasks and information sheets for students to stick in their books. A one hour lesson focusing on the status and treatment of women in religion. This was used in for GCSE RS Thematic Studies AQA (9-1) Component 2. It is fully editable and includes essay preparation, quote analysis tasks, a variety of activities, a 12 mark practice question, clips and questions and is fully differentiated. It is mostly about Christianity with a focus on Islam as the religion of comparison. This pack includes a Powerpoint, worksheets, clips, all well differentiated. A KS3 PSHCE lesson which serves as both an introduction to the concept of disability discrimination and the 2010 Equality Act. The lesson, created by MACS Charity with EC Resources, allows students to investigate the benefits to society of the 2010 Equality Act by studying cases of discrimination in the wider world. These resources also serve to highlight how MACS charity (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support) helps children with visual impairments and prepares them for life as independent and disabled UK citizens. The lesson lasts around 2 hours and includes differentiated activities, case study investigations, clip tasks and group activities as well as guidance to show how the lesson meets sections of the new PSHE draft curriculum from the DfE for 2020 and the statutory Citizenship curriculum for KS3. The lesson is in the Zip File - the images have been uploaded so you can clearly see what the lesson includes. MACS is a charity for young people who were born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes, so the assemblies focus on the importance of valuing our vision and how we should treat everyone with respect and without prejudice.
