BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what is needed for the life stage Adolescence (9-18 years-olds) If you are following my SoW this is Week 4 is the delivery of all aspects covering growth and development in the second life stage, childhood 3-8 years. The pace has to be reasonably fast to get the content delivered, there is one PowerPoint you can use split for different lessons. All the spec content is included in one presentation with 52 slides which have animation so text is delivered in chunks. These cover the expected key characteristics in each of the PIES classifications. This is a resource package for teaching the New BTEC HSC Level 3, Unit 1 Human Growth and Development through Life Stages, A2 Intellectual Development and covers all that’s on the spec. B6 Major life events that affect development Predictable events: • these are events that are expected to happen at a particular time. While expected, they may still have an effect on a person’s health and wellbeing. This effect can be positive or negative, regardless of the event. Unpredictable events: • these are events that happen unexpectedly and can have serious physical and psychological effects on an individual. These effects can be positive or negative, regardless of the event. Many events can be either predictable or unpredictable depending on the life course of the individual. This package is for teachers delivering the new 2022 spec for BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Component 2. For teachers following my SoW, this is for week 30 after the completion of Component 1. There is one presentations, one is 45 slides and covers both geographical barriers and intellectual barriers and ways to overcome both as per PSA Task 3, with applied examples. There is guidance and options for students note taking which will be a source of reference in the PSA. Students will be expected to know a range of potential barriers but the focus is on geographical location covered in the spec below and be able to recognise which barrier(s)apply and the most suitable ways to overcome these. In addition the second part of the presentation is focused on intellectual barriers and covers every point in the spec for overcoming these and more. Throughout there is reference to different services from A2. Homework is set as the case studies they do not cover in the lesson so they have the full range from the spec.
