Ancient Greek Mythical Monster Report

(1)
We used this lesson to write non-chronological reports about Greek monsters. Children choose which monsters they want to research and must find out five facts about each one. My lowest ability only managed two monsters in the time, whereas the top ability could find out, and draw very detailed sketches of, four monsters. The children drew their creatures on plain A6 paper and then cut around them and stuck them onto their reports. (Some additional teaching will be required on note-taking and then turning those notes back into paragraphs) Thanks for looking! James and The Giant Peach- Depicting emotions through actions

This resource helps children to understand how the author uses actions to describe how a character is feeling. Using four short quotes from Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, children can draw a face depicting the feeling in the box and then think about how the character might move if they feel this way. Mothers Day Assembly: Mums Making History

(0)
This was a class assembly performed by 5 children (When we performed it, 1 and 2 were confident girls, 3 was a girl with speech difficulties and 4 and 5 were boys) about Mums that have made history. The children researched Anna Jarvis, Marie Curie, Emmeline Pankhurst, Jessica Ennis, Tanni Grey-Thompson and JK Rowling for their homework and I wrote this assembly piece to show the rest of the school what we had been learning about. Problem Solving Maths Day

Problem Solving Maths Day

(0)
This activity was used for a Key Stage 2 Problem Solving day. The clues were printed and laminated and hidden all over the school. The children had to find the clues, answer the question (in mixed year group teams) and use their answers to work out the letters (the answer is 'If you can solve this you can have one housepoint each'). Some of the questions are quite difficult to challenge the Year 6s. Thanks for looking! Advent Calendar with Bible Verses 2017

Each school day of December before the Christmas holidays, click on the date and read the next part of the Christmas story from the Bible. I used this at the beginning of every day in December (in a Christian school) and we discussed the meaning of the verses. There are no numbers for the weekend dates, only the school dates. Not all verses are from the same book of the Bible but are in the correct order for the story! Thanks for looking! Year 4 Maths Starters or Extension Plenaries 2014 Curriculum

A powerpoint of 26 Maths starters or extension plenaries for Year 4. This was made for a class of bright children and so the work is challenging. My lowest ability group had other work to complete during this time and may need adapting if using for a whole class. The starters are matched to the 2014 curriculum objectives. Thanks for looking! Newspaper writing frame (for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe)

(1)
This is a newspaper writing frame that could be used for any topic but I used it for our work on The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, hence the heading Narnian News. There is space for the child's name, the date and a picture, along with the columns for the children to write their news into. Thanks for looking! Geography Endangered Animals

(1)
This lesson explains why some animals are endangered, what this means and how to help. The 'Top-Trumps' style cards are for the children to use (with their research from computers and books) to draw and write about endangered animals of their choice. I cut the cards out ahead of the lesson and stuck as many as the children completed in thetime into their books. Thanks for looking!
