KS3 science literacy assessments Follows exploring science 7- 9 - broken up per these topics. Introduction and question at the top, a space for notes, a space for organisation of thoughts and a space to write final answers. Used as an assessment tool science wide for consistency thought out the department.

This is a revision lesson about CB1 - Key Concepts in Biology It includes a powerpoint with starter and instructions for the lesson. There is a confidence sheet for the start and end of lesson. Document includes different revision activities for each part of SB1. These are mostly card sorts of definitions to key words. Lesson plan attached. This is to help pupils with key terminology for CB1. I printed off the different activities in different colours and used a carousel around the classroom . Answer sheets are also included so pupils can check their work. ( Usually there is an answer sheet, a blank sheet and a cut out sheet for each activity.) It takes a bit of prep but then can be used again.

Used in a middle school (year 9 pupils) ready for movement up to high school. About microbes, what they are, defenses against them etc. Contains multiple lessons. Includes research activities, some boardworks animations, practical sessions and quizzes. This was completed over multiple lessons and can be cut up and added to as needed.

An A4 spread to be completed by pupils. Boxes to be filled in and pictures to label - picture answers on the back. Can be used to aid revision, as a place mat, or to be filled in throughout the unit of work.

Homework including pictures and what the scientist did. Pupils have to research the different scientists and match complete a match up. Engaging pupils in scientists of the past, what they did and improving research skills.

Used during deadtime/plenaries to get ideas of what pupils have understood
