This is the fourth lesson taught in the new BTEC series. Including specification statements; • Understand metallic bonding: o de-localised electrons o positive metal ions o regular layer structure. Also touches on eletronegativity and polarisation (this is explored in more detail in A2) Pupils are provided with the key information about metallic bonding then asked to compare the three types of bodnign they have looked at. This can be done as a table, venn diagram or bullet points - a venn diagram has been included as an example.

From looking at the specimen papers etc it appears the diffraction part is towards the distinction level of the award - powerpoint will need adapting depending on your learners.

Alll content for Specification statements: 3.3 Waves 3.3.1 Progressive and stationary waves 3.3.2 Refraction, diffraction and interference I have used this powerpoint with my year 12 - pupils have the AQA Year 1 student book which is referenced in the powerpoint. Specific questions have been picked out from the book for pupils to attempt in lessons/ own time. I have also used mini tests, exampro questions and worksheets (not included) to check understanding as we went through. Will probably need adapting for your pupils needs and additional resources/questions/ homeworks for pupils culminated.

Two lessons on sound for KS3 low ability pupils. Hearing damage includes information, a youtube video and a table pupils need to complete. The Bell Jar includes looking at how sound moves - this will not fill a whole lesson - I followed up this with information about the ear.
