I created this worksheet as part of a carousel of homophone activities done during an afternoon ‘SPAG made fun!’ lesson. There are 7 questions and is at least one mistake on each. Children enjoyed telling me I got it all wrong and worked well to correct the teacher! Lots of fun.

I created this resource as part of a carousel of homophone activities. The children in my class LOVED this; it encouraged problem solving, group work and thinking logically about homophones. I printed the cards onto coloured paper, laminated them and cut them out. Children used whiteboard pens to fill in the missing word. Great fun and is a great way to make homophones fun!!

How I used it: Input 5 spelling rules Mixed ability groups of about 3-4 pupils Cut up words and put them in envelopes Children work through the words and sort them into the categories some words don’t fit the spelling rules and therefore go in the bin section of worksheet Blow sheet up to A3 I then finished off the lesson with a spelling bee competition - great assessment tool and they loved it!!
