Each lesson follows the novel in chronological order and is best followed, whilst reading. I have used this over the last couple of years and is a real success! LANGUAGE TECHNIQUES & DEVICES: definitions and purpose

This is my favourite resource! I use this resource with all of my students and it really works! In no time, all of my students know all 14 + language devices off by heart and can comment on their purpose and effect. I don't want to teach you how to suck eggs but this is how I use them. Cut and Stick activity. Acronym: MATE PROOFREADS! 1. Fold and glue along the heading the tabs 2. Match with the definitions and the purpose & effects - stick these underneath each tab. Valuable tool to use in the classroom to teach the techniques, use as a revision tool and/or use as a checklist for creative writing. BELIEVE ME, IT WORKS!
