Normans Assessment
This is an assessment looking at the question: Explain the impact of the Norman Conquest on English government and law (8 marks). Enclosed is a Lesson explain, structure sheet and examples of WAGOLL/WABOLL
Castles
This is a brief lesson looking at the development of castles under the Normans. There will be a focus on Motte and Bailey castles.
The Domesday book
This lesson follows the SOW in regards to 1066 and the Normans. There is a focus on Yorkshire but can be be adapted for other areas of England.

This is looking at the Feudal system. Using guided reading students find out about the Feudal System

Battle of Hastings
This follows the Scheme of work in regards to 1066. This is lesson three which looks at the Battle of Hastings. The lesson looks at the events and the reasons why William won finishing with looking at an ‘exam style’ question.
Battle of Stamford Bridge
This is a lesson looking at the Battle of Stamford Bridge looking at the events before and during as well as using some interpretation skills.
Claimants to the Throne
This is the first lesson in the 1066 unit looking at the claimants of the throne. The lesson follows my Scheme of Work (also available). All resources are placed here.
