Presentational Devices Lessons

(18)
A series of 4 lessons focusing on presentational devices. Students are encouraged to analyse images from adverts and newspapers whilst also considering the impact of the language used. I have merged bits and pieces together that I have found, whilst adding some of my own resources and ideas. This should prove useful for KS3 transition to GCSE or KS4 itself. A lesson plan is provided as the last slide of each PowerPoint.

Year 9 Macbeth Scheme of Work - Lesson 12

This is a scheme of work mainly aimed at Year 9 pupils studying Macbeth. The unit will end in a reading assessment on the question: How does Shakespeare present the causes and consequences of greed in the play Macbeth? This could also be adapted for KS4 classes. A lesson plan is included with each lesson so you can understand my thought process. Macbeth is possibly my favourite Shakespeare play, so I hope I have done it justice!

This is a set of three lessons that I have made to help students improve their skills in writing summaries. It is a combination of individual and group work. This was made for Year 9 as an introduction to GCSE English, but could work well for a lower ability KS4 class. I have tried to make a somewhat 'dry&' topic as entertaining as possible! A lesson plan features as the last slide on each PowerPoint.

Year 7: Persuasive Writing Scheme - Lesson 1

(3)
This is a scheme of work that culminates in students writing a persuasive leaflet for a theme park. This is aimed at very low ability Year 7 students and is designed to be interesting and simple to follow. I have essentially used the existing PDF scheme of work here: https://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Scheme-of-work-Unit-on-leaflets-and-theme-parks-6037479. I am however tweaking it slightly as I go and creating Power Points for each lesson, as this is the way that I like to work. I will be uploading this as and when I create the lessons but feel free to check out the original to get an idea of where it is going. I have put notes under each slide to briefly explain what the students/teacher will be doing. Let me know how you get on folks!
