I'm an international teacher currently working in Lima, Peru. I've previously worked at schools in Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and South Korea. I teach Computer Science, core ICT and have just launched IB Digital Society at my school this year. My husband also works as a Computer Science teacher (and yes we talk tech all the time!) I hope that you find my resources useful and please give me feedback on how you get on with them, as well as any improvements or new content that you'd like to see.

Bundle of Resources for Teaching the IA Inquiry Project for IB Digital Society

If you’ve just starting teaching IB Digital Society this year, you’ll know that there are hardly any resources out there to use, apart from the textbook I’ve uploaded the full set of lesson presentations that I am using for the IA (Inquiry Project) aspect of the course, with presentations, suggested activities and the 3 example IAs and Process Documents provided by the IB I would recommend that you start with the activities shown in the ‘Analysis of Exemplar Inquiry Projects’ powerpoint. Get your students to look at the 3 example projects, and then ask students how they would mark them, using the IA Rubric. Finally, ask students to compare their grades with the grades from the IB You should then be ready to start the next powerpoint ‘Creating Your Inquiry Project (IA)’. Students should use the ‘Evaluate Your Topic’ template to decide on an emerging technology to investigate, then complete the Process Document template. Finally, students should prepare a set of slides and a script for their 10min video using the templates provided. I am hoping to add seperate bundles for the IB Digital Society Standard Level course soon, as well as resources for the teaching the Extended Essay for this course Please do give me feedback on these resources as I have also started teaching the course this year, and would love to know if you have found these useful, or if there is anything you think could be added / improved or removed!

If you’ve just starting teaching IB Digital Society this year, you’ll know that there are hardly any resources out there to use, apart from the textbook I’ve uploaded the full set of lesson presentations that I am using for the 1.1A-G Standard Level aspect of the course, with presentations and suggested activities I am hoping to add additional bundles for more IB Digital Society Standard Level units soon, as well as resources for the Extended Essay element of this course. Do take a look at my other resources as I already have available a bundle of all my Higher Level presentations, plus a bundle of resources for delivering the IA section of the course. Take a look at these if you don’t have time to make your own! Please do give me feedback on these resources as I have just started teaching the course this year, and I would love to know if you have found these useful, or if there is anything you think could be added / improved or removed!

Bundle of International Womens Day 8th March resources

Celebrate International Womens Day on 8th March with your tutor group, class or as part of an online assembly. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten to mention when International Men’s Day is (it’s 19th November if you weren’t sure!). Included in the presentation is a selection of ideas to do in class, online or at home, as well as a Netflix and Disney+ watch list. On the second half of the presentation is a deep dive into some ideas for discussion if you want to dig a little deeper into some of the issues facing many women day today, such as what is the ‘mental load’, why are some people scared by the word ‘feminist’, and why shouting at a woman in the street whilst she is exercising is not a compliment. Included are a set of slides which can be presented online or viewed and printed offline. Also included is an online wordsearch (for which I have also included a printable version), and a memory round powerpoint, with a timer. Find the links to the online versions of the presentation and wordsearch in the attached Word doc Please check out my other resources - I have loads of complete units of work for ICT, Animation, Computing an Graphic Design that I hope you will find useful and will also save you time!

This resource contains: A Powerpoint booklet of IB Exam Command Terms, including definitions of each question type, how to frame your answers, example questions and responses for each question type, tailored specifically for Digital Society An Excel document containing key vocabulary and definitions that students will encounter on the Digital Society course, broken down by topic on each tab of the spreadsheet If you’ve just starting teaching IB Digital Society, you’ll know that there are not currently many resources available, apart from the textbook (which is excellent!) Do take a look at my other resources for this course as I have uploaded a full set of lesson presentations and activities for delivering the IA, Standard Level Unit 3 and Higher Level Unit 5. I am hoping to upload Standard Level Unit 4 very soon, giving a full set of teachable resources for the entire course. Please do give me feedback on these resources as I have only started teaching the course this year, and I would love to know if you have found these useful, or if there is anything else that you think could be added / improved or removed!
